Far from a talk shop

ROSEBANK – The Rosebank node is set to become a beneficiary of the forum’s mission.

An establishment of a collaborative working group, focused on safety and security issues within the Rosebank area, was recently launched. The structure of the workgroup was built off that of a partnering body called the Forum of Integrated Risk Mitigation (Firm).

According to Rosebank Management District Precinct manager Lerato Khiba, the Firm hopes to support and improve the impact of the district’s security operations through structured working relationships with the police, Metro police and other private security operators in the area.

She added that the Rosebank Management District/Lower Rosebank Management District will also remain critical – implementing agents on the ground to deliver the strategies and projects developed by the Rosebank Firm chapter.

Inspired by a vision to build Ubuntu, create safe and secure spaces for growth within the South African cities, the Firm was established in 2019. According to Firm chairman Wayne Dawson, “We believe that collectively we can move mountains. We also believe that a collaborative response approach is a winning recipe. At its core, the Firm is about using collaboration to add value and make an impact, if we cannot achieve that we won’t do it.”

Mikhaela Donaldson from Excellerate Managed Services said, “The Firm is thereby reaching out to stakeholders, operators, businesses and law enforcement within the Rosebank node to identify projects, interventions and opportunities for collaboration that could add value and make an impact for the node and its community.”

Donaldson further said that the Firm adopts a risk-based approach in developing solutions which are targeted and have clear operational objectives.
