Covid-19 recoveries steadily increase in Joburg’s northern suburbs

JOBURG – The City of Johannesburg has recorded a total of 129 454 recoveries, 146 171 cases and 2 269 deaths.

The Gauteng Department of Health has today (19 January) confirmed that Johannesburg’s northern suburbs of region B and E continue to see increases in Covid-19 recoveries. 

In the last 24 hours region E recorded 403 recoveries and 116 new cases of Covid-19. This brings the region to a total of 21 767 recoveries and 24 508 cases recorded.

The region includes the suburbs of Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton.

Region B confirmed 320 recoveries and 97 new cases of Covid-19. This amounts to a total of 16 852 recoveries and 18 782 cases recorded. 

The region includes the suburbs in the region include Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North.
