Norwood arrests 66 suspects in November

NORWOOD – Masotsha said Norwood Police were very concerned about the rise of domestic violence and situations where victims withdrew their cases after a few days.

Norwood police arrested 66 suspects in November, according to spokesperson for the police station Sergeant Eric Masotsha.

He said the suspects were arrested for different crimes including assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (7), fraud (6), possession of counterfeit money (2), possession of dagga (2), possession of housebreaking implements (3), possession of stolen property (4), theft under false pretences (2), reckless and negligent driving (3), assault under domestic violence (8), common assault (10), intimidation (5), impersonating a police officer (1), shoplifting (9), driving under the influence of alcohol (3) and failure to display a liquor licence (1).

Masotsha said Norwood police were very concerned about the rise of domestic violence and situations where victims withdrew their cases after a few days.

He warned the public to let the law take its course.
