Request for donations for large public health drive

PARKHURST – Donations of fresh fruit and food, beverages as well as sanitary towels will be welcome.

The City of Johannesburg Parkhurst Clinic Region B will be conducting a Health Open Day. The event will be on 19 November from 8am to 10am at no cost at the clinic.

The aim and objectives of the event are to:

  •  Promote public awareness of services provided by various departments.
  •  Promote multidisciplinary approach to primary prevention screening, early detection and management of non-communicable and communicable illnesses.
  •  Create awareness of available services to ensure equal access to all.
  •  Increase public awareness that addresses significant public health problems.
  •  Improve the knowledge and attitude about early detection treatment and control of diseases.
  •  Promote community educational material essential for a positive lifestyle.

For the Open Day approximately 50 to 100 people are expected to attend. “We need your help to reach all participants by means of a donation. The request is for fruits, ready-made food and beverages for participants in the event. Sanitary towels or anything for female participants are also requested. Your donation will be recorded as an ‘in kind donation’ to the authorities. Your contribution to the health and wellbeing of our people is highly appreciated,” Hazel Mabulwana, operational manager at Parkhurst Clinic said.

Details: Parkhurst Clinic is located on corner 5th Avenue and 14th Street in Parkhurst.
