Spokesperson for the Norwood Police Station, Sergeant Eric Masotsha said while police were conducting patrols on 16 October, they noticed a suspicious vehicle which was stationary in a driveway.

When police were about to approach the vehicle, a man jumped out and ran into the yard.

“Police gave chase and found a man stuck in the backyard of the house. Police identified themselves to the suspect and asked to search him. “They found five packets of illegal substances on him,” said Masotsha.

Masotsha added that when the suspect was asked how he came to be in possession of the substances, he said a friend had given them to him.

Police proceeded to search the driver of the vehicle but found nothing and requested to search his room and found a greenish plant substance which was confirmed to be marijuana.
