Norwood detectives catch suspects in a short space of time

He added that information was circulated to the detectives and they went driving with the victim.

Two suspects were put behind bars after an armed robbery of a victim. Norwood police spokesperson Sergeant Eric Masotsha said the two suspects robbed an African male of his items to the value of R25 000 plus hard cash of R6 000. He added that the robbery took place on the corner of 6th Street and Louis Botha Avenue within the Norwood police precinct.

The two suspects threatened the complainant with a knife before robbing him. “The victim then went to the station and opened a case of armed robbery. He mentioned that he knows one of the suspects who robbed him very well and he would be able to identify him,” Sergeant Masotsha said.

He added that information was circulated to the detectives and they went driving with the victim. “Fortunately, the complainant again saw both suspects walking along Louis Botha Avenue; he then pointed out the suspects who robbed him and some items were found in their possession. Both were charged with armed robbery and will appear before a court of law soon.”

Sergeant Masotsha warned members of the public to refrain from any criminal activities.
