Women empowerment organisation Woman of Stature has joined forces with the Milpark-based Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) to enhance their activities in the fields of investment, business information and other commerce-oriented activities.
Woman of Stature was founded by local businesswoman Charlotte du Plessis in 2013 as a South African organisation committed to the empowerment of women. It has evolved and transitioned over the years into a training, development and networking organisation. Woman of Stature aims to support women in the development of their skills and assist them in business by empowering them through further education, training and skills development.
“Women are still under-represented in the workforce, marginalised socially and domestically abused. It is my vision that Woman of Stature channels this message and provides a voice for the devoiced and voiceless,” said Du Plessis. By signing a memorandum of understanding to work together, Woman of Stature and the JCCI can not only share information about development opportunity in Africa, but can also grow their respective influences globally into the short-term future.
Internal trade manager overseeing this strategic partnership into Africa, Bernadette Zeiler said of the partnership, “It is very important for businesses to adopt an export strategy in order to expand, create jobs and boost the economy. JCCI offers such a platform where businesses can engage with potential partners and gain access to international markets. JCCI has also formed strategic partnership with organisations such as WOS where businesses will be given an opportunity to access partnerships or joint ventures in the international arena.”
