Road upgrade commences in Greenside

Motorists are advised to avoid the area as a through road as there will be congestion due to the narrow and slow diversion and rather use Barry Hertzog or 7th Avenue and other routes to move from Linden towards Rosebank.

The upgrade of certain roads has commenced in Greenside and will continue for at least three weeks.

As the Rosebank Killarney Gazette reported in Greenside roads to undergo upgrades [Week ending 19 June], residents can expect road disruptions. The following closure will be in effect while construction takes place:

Greenway Road will be the main conduit to and from Barry Hertzog/Gleneagles intersection. This is so the roadway of the intersection can be removed, newly raised crossings constructed and roadway relaid.

Drinkwater said, “Motorists are advised to avoid the area as a through road as there will be congestion due to the narrow and slow diversion and rather use Barry Hertzog or 7th Avenue and other routes to move from Linden towards Rosebank.”

Residents in the Greenside area are advised that there will likely be an increase in traffic in the suburb side roads and to exercise extreme caution when walking, jogging etc. especially in the morning and evenings.” Drinkwater added that as changes were made, there would be updates.
