Housekeeper discovers gardener’s body

The deceased had been working as a gardener at the house for several years.

An inquest docket was registered at Norwood Police Station after a man was found hanged at a home in Birdhaven.

Spokesperson for the station, Sergeant Eric Masotsha said his patrol van received a request of police assistance in Birdhaven under Sector 1 at about 10am on 20 June. On the police officers’ arrival at the address, they were let in by a housekeeper who informed them that she works at that particular house. Giving a recount of what had happened, she said she had been surprised upon arrival as she called the deceased’s name and got no response.

According to Sergeant Masotsha, the housekeeper said that she went to the other side of the yard, where she found the deceased hanging by his neck with a rope. The deceased had been working as a gardener at the house for several years. “We as the police, urge any member of the public to remember that life is precious and it’s a gift from God. There is no problem without a solution so please don’t take away your life. We need you and your family loves you so much,” Sergeant Masotsha said.
