PPE and other essentials urgently needed at Park Care

PARKTOWN NORTH – Not everyone may be aware that Park Care has a serious coronavirus outbreak, amongst staff and residents.

Park Care Centre in Parktown North urgently requires support to keep frail residents safe and secure. This is not only against the fierce winter chill experienced, but especially against the pandemic of the Covid-19 virus that has penetrated the boundaries of the facility and entered some of the living space of this fragile society where there are about 20 to 24 residents.

Jaqui Smith from the centre said, “We are aware that this is a time when every individual, business and organisation are ultimately inundated with requests for support and donations.

In spite of this, we wish to nonetheless appeal for the courtesy of your indispensable support without delay as Park Care are desperately in need of your valuable donations and contributions toward our crucial Covid-19 campaign to help sustain and maintain best 24/7 Frail Residential Nursing Care in the midst of this pervasive fiend.”

She added that several residents and staff are now in strict isolation for their protection against the Covid-19.

“The essential items, as per list, identified by management, are critically and fundamentally necessary to help combat the Covid-19 spread, and your support is profoundly needed in this campaign to ensure the best health and safety measures for all our frail nursing care dependents and essential staff on duty – enabling Park Care management and staff the opportunity for exclusive work done to make a difference in the lives of every Park Care nursing care-dependent and its personnel,” Smith said.

She added that being a non-profit organization, Park Care does not have access to an endless supply of funding to ensure that stocks of necessary items, such as masks and other vital protective isolation provisions, will be enough in order to sustain them until the Covid-19 pandemic is over.
