Police hunt for suspects after house robbery and murder in Parkhurst

PARKHURST – Parkview SAPS are appealing to any member of the public who might have witnessed the incident, or with information that can help in the arrest of the suspects, to call the station or Crime Stop.

Police are investigating a case of house robbery and murder after the body of a 63-year-old man was found tied up in Parkhurst.

According to Parkview Police Station spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, the incident took place on 25 May at around 9am. “The complainant alleged that he called his brother on a cell phone and landline but the phones kept on ringing. He then drove to 14th Street in Parkhurst to check on his brother as he was not answering the phones. On his arrival, the complainant found the victim tied up with a belt,” explained Sibeko.

She added that an ambulance was called and the paramedics declared the victim dead at the scene. The deceased’s VW golf and electronic equipment were stolen during the house robbery.

Captain Sibeko said, “Parkview SAPS are appealing to any member of the public who might have witnessed the incident, or with information that can help in the arrest of the suspects, to call the station or Crime Stop.”
