Upgrades to Parkhurst Recreation Centre to start as soon as possible

PARKHURST – Residents can expect the whole facility to be closed as the work to be done is extensive.

Ward 117 councillor Tim Truluck shared that the Parkhurst Recreation Centre is set for major renovations.

Truluck said, “After the roof and floor were done a few years ago, a new R3.2 million contract was awarded this month. Work is scheduled to start as soon as possible and it is hoped 40 per cent will be completed by the financial year end on 30 June.”

He added that a community liaison officer and labourers from the ward database of prior applicants would be appointed, as the regional offices remain closed. When small medium and micro enterprises are needed, social media and local print media will be used.
