PRA calls for donations of R250 or more to help feed those in need

PARKVIEW – Combining efforts with other non-profit organisations in the community, the PRA will provide food hampers to those in need.

The Parkview Residents’ Association (PRA) members have started their own food hamper drive.

The Parkview Food Hampers drive aims to cater to several local beneficiaries. These include Ward 87 hungry families, recyclers and other community members in need through liaison with ward councillor Bridget Steer; Gift of the Givers and Community Action Network.

The association appeals to residents to make donations of R250 or more which will go towards food parcels made up of essential food items.

According to PRA’s marketing and communication manager Theresa Gibbon, the parcels will then be distributed by feeding schemes to local and neighbouring communities. The distributors strictly adhere to the lockdown social distancing and Covid-19 hygiene regulations.

“Please support this worthy cause by depositing into the provided account. If anyone has eBucks, uCounts or greenbacks loyalty points, they can transfer them into shopping vouchers. They can then send the vouchers by text message or WhatsApp,” said Gibbon.

Details: To get account details to donate, email info@parkview.org.za or call 082 820 8437. Residents can WhatsApp vouchers to 071 554 3085.
