DSJ Bewegungs-Challenge raises over R50 000

PARKTOWN – All money raised would aid the school's Covid-19 safety measures for its staff and learners.

The Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg in Parktown hosted its first-ever virtual event.

The Bewegungs-Challenge was a fundraiser where participants could run, walk, cycle or partake in any discipline that could be measured in distance.

The event, which ran from 6am to 12pm on 16 May, attracted more than 300 participants from all over South Africa as well as Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, with over R50 000 raised from all the pledges.

All money raised would aid the school’s Covid-19 safety measures for its staff and learners. The school’s biggest fundraiser, the century-old Schulbasar, which was due to take place on 30 May, was already been cancelled earlier in the year.
