NORWOOD – Over a thousand families within Ward 73 need food.

The Norwood, Orange Grove and Houghton Community Action Network (Noah Can) needs residents’ generosity.

“A cold front is coming and over a thousand families in our ward (Ward 73) have nothing to eat. Please support our food drive tomorrow at Patterson Park. Even just one food item will make a difference,” Noah Can posted on Facebook.

They assured residents that a volunteer would take people’s contributions from their passenger side or boot and they won’t need to get out of their car.

Among the items needed are rice, tinned-foods, soap, sugar, milk powder, packet soup, mealie meal, soya mince, sugar beans, jungle oats, and teabags.

Residents can donate on 26 May from 9am to 12pm.

Details: Paterson Park is on 12 Paterson Road, opposite Norwood SAPS.
