Number 1: Covid 19: Watch, Parkview police’s first day of operations during #21dayLockdown

Police spent the first day of lockdown ensuring that displaced people are transferred to places of shelter for the duration of the 21 days.

They also checked up on businesses in the area, ensuring the closure of non-essential services.

 

Number 2: Wrap up of the CCIN convention

Founder of Civilian Crime Intelligence Network (CCIN) Dr Reza Patel said that high levels of crime continue to threaten the rights and dignity of South Africans.

 

Number 3: Parkview CPF urges residents to be respectful to police members during lockdown

Parkview CPF chair Geraldine Connell encourages residents to adhere to regulations, contribute food and other essentials for the less fortunate and be respectful to police members during the lockdown.

Connell sent the Gazette photos of the Gauteng Province assisting the Parkview police to sanitise the station recently.

 

Number 4: Two arrested for running a factory during the lockdown and for attempting to bribe a police officer

On 6 April, the police alongside the Department of Labour and the Directorate Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) embarked on a joint crime operation in Benrose.

Two suspects, aged 33 and 42, were arrested and charged for the contravention of the Disaster Management Act and the Health and Safety Act, and for attempting to bribe a police officer.

 

Number 5: Covid-19: Government welcomes arrest of fake news video suspect

A 55-year-old male suspect was arrested and charged for allegedly circulating a misleading video clip claiming Covid-19 test kits has been contaminated.
