Covid-19: Gauteng records 540 recoveries
The Gauteng Department of Health has confirmed that Johannesburg has the highest number of cases in the province sitting at 599.
Gauteng has confirmed that the total number of cases in the province now sits at 1 018 with 540 recoveries so far.
The province had recorded six deaths as of 17 April.
In a statement, the Gauteng Department of Health reported that Johannesburg had the highest number of cases at 599, Ekurhuleni at 196, Tshwane at 110, West Rand at 35 and Sedibeng with 10.
There are also 68 unallocated cases.
The statement said, “Allocating Gauteng cases to respective districts is ongoing. After obtaining further information on contact numbers and addresses from law enforcement agencies, provincial outbreak teams and the National Institute of Communicable Diseases, corrections are made where a case might have been incorrectly allocated to a particular district.”
