Park Care Centre needs your support

PARKTOWN – The charity organisation Park Care Centre takes care of elderly residents who need items to help alleviate infection of Covid-19.

Business development officer at Park Care Centre Jaqui Smith writes:

We are left with no other option but to once again ask for assistance from you, our loyal supporters.

Absolutely any contribution which you may be able to make towards our Covid-19 Care Initiative would be most gratefully appreciated by all at Park Care; but most importantly, by the most vulnerable and at risk of infection, our precious frail and fragile residents and our staff caring for them.

Park Care Centre is hard at work during these times, adhering to all measures for health and safety protection to the best of our abilities to ensure the health and well-being of not only our fragile, frail residents but also our invaluable staff who are committed and dedicated to keeping our residents healthy and in high spirits.

Due to the suddenness and severity of the Covid-19 outbreak in South Africa, Park Care has to deal with many unexpected expenses such as the need for additional antibacterial cleaning agents to help us ensure that all surfaces remain clean and germ-free at all times.

To this end Park Care has been providing hand sanitisers, face masks (handmade), gloves and other protection articles to our staff. This precaution not only ensures that our staff remain healthy, it also limits the chances of our vulnerable residents from being exposed to the potentially life-threatening coronavirus.

Of the main items which are most effective in combating the spread of the virus are the N95 Class Particulate Respirator masks which we desire to dispense to all of Park Care’s staff. Unfortunately, these masks which used to cost R50 each are now being sold for almost double the price, and this is not the only needed item which has increased in price since the start of the outbreak.

As you can imagine, being a charity organisation, Park Care does not have an endless supply of funding available in order to ensure that our stocks of necessary items will be enough in order to sustain us until the Covid-19 pandemic is over. Some treats and few tuck shop items will also be nice to distribute among the residents to cheer them up.

Thank you for taking the time to raise the value of who we are through your generous support.
