Craighall Vet implements changes for the 21-day lockdown

Craighall Veterinary Hospital will be open during the 21-day lockdown, as it will be providing essential services to your pet.

Minister of Agriculture, Thoko Didiza announced that veterinary services will be allowed to continue during the lockdown period.

In a statement, the Craighall Vet team said, “We have started to implement new changes to ensure the safety of all our clients and staff members during this time. We would greatly appreciate your co-operation.”

Here are some of the measures:

• When you arrive for an appointment, tell the reception that you have arrived for your appointment, remember to social distance and return to your car. The vet will come to you, chat to you about your pet and take them inside alone to complete a full examination
• Your pet will be brought back to you with the medication and explain everything as a normal consultation and you may come back inside to pay your bill, your bill will be emailed to you or printed for you
• Booking of appointments through phone and email will still be done, the vet will call you back to inform you of the available timeslot.

If your pet is on chronic or lifelong medication:

• Call the Craighall vet on 011 442 7361, so that they can order you two-month supply. This may take up to two days, they have advised that you call in advance.
• Housecalls will no longer be done, call for a consultation instead.
