Metro police’s reaction unit arrests wanted suspect in Hillbrow

HILLBROW – The suspect was wanted for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The Metro police IIOC Reaction Unit arrested a wanted male suspected in Hillbrow on 25 March.

Chief of Metro police, David Tembe said officers received information of a vehicle wanted in connection with a crime committed in the area, the suspect was wanted for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He said, “The vehicle was found at Wolmarans and Claim streets with the suspect in it.”

Spokesperson for Metro police, Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar added that the undercover officers received a tip-off regarding the vehicle, “They found the vehicle, it matched the description. When they found a man inside, they took him to the Hillbrow Police Station and the local police found it was the suspect they had been looking for.”

The suspect is being detained at the police station.
