The Zone @ Rosebank observes stricter hygiene, but it’s business as usual

ROSEBANK – The Zone @ Rosebank assures customers that they are committed to providing the safest shopping environment for patrons and tenants.

The Zone @ Rosebank said all tenants have been made aware of the need to observe the highest standard of hygiene, but it is business as usual.

Marketing manager for Excellerate Brand Management Liesl Lodewyk responded to questions from the Gazette on behalf of Old Mutual Properties and Excellerate JHI, who are property owners and stakeholders at The Zone @ Rosebank.

Lodewyk said, “We are have always observed stringent cleaning and hygiene standards, but in response to this endemic and in order to provide as safe an environment as possible for our shoppers, we will be reinstating all ablution water flow to full force; we will be changing the type of soap and sanitisers to medial grade; we are increasing the number of cleaning staff as well as the frequency of cleaning with a concentrated focus on specific touchpoints such as surfaces, doors, escalators and lifts.”

Lodewyk said that tenants have been advised to implement additional cleaning measures in light of the outbreak.

She said that new partnerships between tenants and online partners have been formed to assist with delivery and click-and-collect solutions to facilitate less person-to-person contact. They will also limit the number of staff on duty.

The mall is also promoting educational messages concerning personal hygiene and coughing etiquette.

The mall advised shoppers to exercise caution and follow protocols as directed by the government and National Institute of Communicable Diseases. They also advised shoppers to support small vendors and suppliers where possible.

Lodewyk assured customers that The Zone @ Rosebank is committed to providing the safest shopping environment for patrons and tenants. “We will act on the instructions of government, but at this time it is business as usual with added safety measures,” said Lodewyk.

Ster-Kinekor has introduced stricter hygiene protocol including the placement of hand sanitisers in cinemas and minimising staff in quieter periods.

According to a statement by the cinema, social distancing is encouraged inside the cinema and show attendances will be capped at 100. Shows will screen between 12noon and 6pm.
