This was after Bramley police arrested a man for robbery after a motorist offered a lift to the suspect who was apparently dressed up as a woman. The motorist picked up the suspect on the corner of Louis Botha Avenue and Corlett Drive on 17 February.

Bramley police spokesperson Captain Molefe Mogodi said, “A victim opened a case of robbery with Bramley Police Station alleging that on 17 February in the early hours of the morning, he offered a lift to a person whom at the time he thought was a woman.

“The victim further mentioned that he only found out that his passenger was not a woman but a man when he allegedly began making sexual advances towards him. The suspect allegedly went further demanding sexual favour from the victim in return for money. When the victim refused, the suspect then robbed him of his cell phone according to the information from the victim.”

Mogodi said the suspect was detained at Bramley Police Station and was due to appear in court.
