Rosebank, Diepsloot and Cosmo City have new fire station commanders

JOBURG – The fire station commanders had been occupying this position on an acting basis.

The City of Joburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) acting chief Rapulane Monageng with the MMC for Public Safety Mally Mokoena welcomed four newly appointed station commanders on 3 March.

The ceremony was held at Rietfontein Training Academy in Lenasia. The new station commanders will be based in Diepsloot, Cosmo City, Rosebank and Eldorado Park.

Spokesperson for EMS, Robert Muluadzi said, “We are happy to welcome these four experienced officers who have been occupying this position on an acting basis. They have been in the services for more than 20 years, all of them in various capacities. This is part of the process to fill all the vacant positions within the organisation so that there is order and discipline.”

The Rosebank station commander will be Belinda Mainetja, for Cosmo City, Chicco Nyathi and in Diepsloot, Bongi Vukela.
