Educo Solutions resumes free education courses in new, safer locations

Educo Solutions has new facilities within two malls in Alex and in Braamfontein provide Educo and subsequently the learners, with more sustainable premises.

Educo Solutions, an organisation that supplies free accredited education to the youth, resumes classes in 2020 in its new premises in Alex Mall, Protea Glen Shopping Mall, the Diepkloof Library and in the newest addition, the Libridge Building, Braamfontein.

The new facilities within the two malls and in Braamfontein provide Educo, and subsequently the learners, with more sustainable premises which have the added benefit of being safer, access to ablutions and food as well as other facilities within the malls.

With a youth unemployment rate of 56.4 per cent, South African youth are in desperate need of skills that set them apart and enable them to gain access to the labour market. Educo Solutions is directly addressing the country’s educational and skills gap needs by giving young people the chance to learn and grow, by providing free, quality, NQF- and SETA-accredited education to unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 28. In addition to studying, students can qualify to earn extra income.

On completion of their 12-month contract that focuses on relevant skills like end-user computing and business communication, graduates, having been up-skilled, will find themselves in an ideal position to enter the formal job market, for positions like secretaries, data capturers, admin staff and customer service agents.

Educo Solutions is focused on bringing quality education and upliftment to unemployed youth in local communities and the new premises within shopping centres, provide an excellent, easily accessible location for the youth.

“We are so excited about the new Educo premises at Protea Glen and Braamfontein,” said Ayanda Mkwanazi, head of academics at Educo Solutions.

“They have been very well received by the students and have really reinvigorated the entire organisation. We are incredibly optimistic about what the future holds for Educo and our students. We would like to encourage more students to register for these potentially life-changing courses. It is a great way to start 2020 afresh with hope, energy, and most importantly, a brand-new skill set.”

Educo Solutions has created a framework that enriches lives through sustainable education and skills upliftment as well as affording students the chance to qualify for income-earning work opportunities while studying, and in so doing, has honoured the words of our former president, Nelson Mandela, who famously said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. The power of education extends beyond the development of skills we need for economic success. It can contribute to nation-building and reconciliation.”

Educo Solutions believes in the power of education and is determined to realise this by empowering Mzansi’s youth.

In addition to the four current sites, Educo will be opening four new education centres across the country in the first half of 2020 with the intention of empowering youth through relevant skills and education.

Educo Solutions has been running courses since April 2019. Registrations are open throughout the year and youth between the ages of 18 and 28 are encouraged to register at a centre, Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm.
