Residents’ association connects community members and stakeholders

GREENSIDE – It was an activity-filled Green Day at Sir Lionel Phillips Park as residents came together to connect.

A combination of efforts and attendance from various residents as well as stakeholders led to a successful first Green Day at Greenside. The event was hosted by the Greenside Residents Association to clean up the neighbourhood as well as for community members to get to know each other was held at Sir Lionel Philips Park.

Chairperson of the association, Judith Ancer said they wanted to build the community whilst connecting community members to each other; the environment and the City. “Our community is very diverse so building those interconnections will help things work better. In a city that’s growing we need to be more connected,” said Ancer.

She added that as much as community members paid their bills and rates to the City, it was also important to join the residents’ associations to deal with local issues more closely.
