A number of customers took to Twitter to express their disappointment and confusion.
“A number of business premises” (unnamed), along Jan Smuts in the area could not be accessed overnight in order to test cables/switches etc. Operators have been busy since businesses opened at about 8am. "16 load centres" were off due to no access.

@DavidCOJ102 I m confused. What happened to your status 5 hours ago saying 25 per cent restoration for same area? Any new ETA please ?

What happened to technicians dispatched last night to investigate. What is the cause? More than 12 hours later with minimal communication is absolutely unacceptable. You have barely updated us. This is pathetic.

As the Ward Cllr, I request an update please. Hundreds are affected by this. Plus it's causing traffic chaos on Jan Smuts. Depot aware of concerns.

#blairgowrieagain @DavidCOJ102 @ewnupdates it's been more than 10 hours without power again in Blairgowrie, craighall, Bordeaux. Saturday also extended time down. What is the problem and what is the ETA to restore?

The power is not yet in. No power since yesterday 17:30 hours in 388 Jan Smuts Avenue, Craighall, Randburg, 2024. Please look into it. Difficult situation for kid and senior citizen.

City Power sent out a team to investigate the cause of the power outage and work on restorations on 18 February around 7pm. The utility did not have an estimated time of restoration at the time.
It, however, seems that the technicians are working on restoring the power and power will be restored once all essential maintenance work has been completed.
City Power apologised for any inconvenience that this power interruption has caused.
