Four arrested during operation Okae molao in Joburg CBD

JOBURG CBD – Police also issued out fines and to three businesses for selling liquor without a license.


Johannesburg Police Station had a successful operation, Okae molao, on 13 February in the Johannesburg CBD from 9am to 4pm.

Spokesperson for the Johannesburg Central Police Station Captain Xoli Mbele said the operation also involved the Metro police, security guards and the Johannesburg inner-city safety and security team. Three businesses were in contravention of the liquor Act, selling liquor without a licence and two fines were issued for R2 500. Police arrested two suspects for possession of drugs, one arrested for dealing and one suspect arrested for assault.

Police also confiscated 25 perishable goods, 20 non-perishable goods and issued a traffic fine.

Mbele added that they would continue enforcing bylaws in the inner-city.
