Crime victim helps JMPD officers identify allerged armed robbers on Grayston Drive

BRAMLEY – The two suspects fitting the description of the alleged robbers were seen walking along Andries Street in Wynberg.


Two male suspects between 33 and 38 years old were arrested and detained at Bramley Police Station for robbery on 11 February.

Bramley Police Station spokesperson Captain Molefe Mogodi said, “Police arrested two suspects a few minutes after they thought it was another lucky day for them. It is alleged by the victim that he was robbed of his belongings by two men while at Grayston Drive off-ramp in Wynberg in the late afternoon on 11 February. He immediately stopped the Johannesburg Metro Police officers who were on patrol in the area and informed them about the alleged robbery.

“Soon after the officers got the information, they immediately began searching for the robbers with the help of the victim. The two suspects fitting the description of the alleged robbers were seen walking along Andries Street in Wynberg.

“The police then stopped and searched them. The property which was stolen from the victim was found in the possession of the two suspects. We have detained them at Bramley Police Station. We are investigating further for the possibility of linking them to similar crimes which have occurred in our area or elsewhere. Both suspects will appear in court soon.”

Mogodi praised the Metro police officers for their swift response to the crime and ensuring that perpetrators were brought to books.
