The Metro police reaction unit together with the Johannesburg Central Police caught two suspects during an armed robbery in Joburg central on 13 February.
Metro police chief head, David Tembe said on Twitter, “The suspect was pointing a firearm at a driver of a vehicle while he’s accomplice was offloading items from the bakkie.”
Spokesperson for the Metro police Chief Superindent Wayne Minnaar said one suspect fled the scene and officers apprehended the other suspect who is being detained at Johannesburg Central Police Station.

Johannesburg Central Police Station spokesperson Captain Xoli Mbele said they recovered a toy gun from the suspect.
Minnaar added that if anyone had information on the escaped suspect they could call the Metro police at 011 375 5911.
