Guide on how to log municipality issues

WARD 87 – Residents can refer to a handy guide compiled by councillor Bridget Steer on how to log issues before she escalates them.

Ward 87 councillor Bridget Steer has drawn up a handy guide to assist residents with escalating issues whose ‘lookandlog’ turnaround time has not been met.

The councillor advised residents to always log their complaints first if they have an issue so that they could be given a reference number as she wouldn’t be able to escalate issues without one.

Steer asked residents to send her their info in this format via email only if it’s an emergency:

For billing and revenue, residents can visit the City of Joburg website

Residents can register free of charge with the City’s e-services to have their statements emailed to them. “You will be asked to enter certain personal information and to choose a username and password. Remember to write down your username and password and keep it in a safe place,” advised Steer.

She added that to activate the process one could log in with their username and password and click on ‘accounts by e-mail’.

“Insert your account number and account pin [as printed on the original tax invoice] to continue with electronic account presentation [EAP], select ‘Continue’; you can ‘Get Statements’ or ‘Verify/Update’ your statement delivery details.”

The councillor advised residents to get more guidance on how to access their statements by visiting Schindlers lawyers’ useful guide on how to use the site at https://bit.ly/2NS2ZJO
