Alex Northrand LFA Promotional League Saturday games rained out
ALEXANDRA –The ANLFA Promotional League of 8 February were cancelled as a result of waterlogged pitches following heavy overnight and early morning rains on the day.
The Saturday games (8 February) of the Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association (ANLFA) Promotional League were washed away by the heavy downpour that was witnessed in Johannesburg and other parts of Gauteng.
The secretary-general of the ANLFA, Malvin Khumalo confirmed the cancellation of the games and said this was done after the inspection of the various pitches in the township which were found to be unplayable.
Khumalo said the pitches were found to be heavily waterlogged and a danger to the players and hence a decision was taken to cancel all the matches. The Sunday games went ahead as scheduled, he added.
Results of the Sunday games:
- Gomtown Boys 2 versus Extension 7 FC 2
- Western Boys 0 versus Rangers 0
- Tangent 1 versus Phomolong All-Stars 1
- Amajananda 5 versus Laz 2
- Black Mask 1 versus Stamina 1
