Residents invited to discuss plans to upgrade Kew Park

KEW – Contractors are ready to start an upgrade to the Kew Park.

Residents in the area of Kew are invited to a public meeting aimed at discussing the planned upgrades at Kew Recreational Park.

Ward 72 councillor David Fisher said the meeting is one of the few that were held since the upgrading plans were proposed and now they are finalising it.

The park, which is located on the corner of Corlett Drive and 1st Avenue, is expected to get revamped with special features.

However, for the park to meet the actual needs of the community, Fisher said it is important that they attend so that they know and understand what the aim is because it is their park. “City Parks and Zoo and their contractors are ready to start an upgrade to the Kew Park and they need residents to be part of this meeting.

“We are holding an information meeting to advise the community about the project and would encourage residents to attend and participate in this exciting improvement in our area. At the previous meeting, the design and scope of the work was agreed to by the community.”

The meeting is expected to be held on 6 February at the park and all residents in the area are invited to attend and participate.
