Donovan Goliath to debut second one-man stand-up show

JOBURG – Donovan Goliath will be having his second one-man stand-up comedy show titled LAANIE on 15 February at the University of Johannesburg.

Donovan Goliath is set to debut his second one-man stand-up comedy show at UJ. Goliath and Goliath is excited to announce, LAANIE, the second one-man stand-up comedy show by Donovan Goliath.

The show debuts on Saturday, 15 February at the University of Johannesburg’s Arts Centre at their Kingsway Campus. LAANIE will debut on the night with two shows at 6 pm and at 8.30 pm. The show will follow Goliath’s last show on M-Net’s Live Series in 2016 where he did incredible impersonations of famous characters like the Joker from Batman, Jason Statham and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

He also spoke about the ups and downs of growing up in Mthatha as a white-looking coloured kid. The stand-up show is centred on the trials and tribulations of moving from a small town to the big city and trying to fit in. Goliath taps into and unpacks simple observations, like his first expensive restaurant experience, growing up with rich cousins, gluten intolerance and much more.

Just like in his first comedy show, audiences can expect a lot of characterisation, storytelling and, most importantly, laughter. Apart from stand-up comedy, Goliath has left his fingerprints in many other places. He is the creative voice of the Loerie Awards and previously hosted M-Net 101. Goliath has also worked as an emcee for clients such as Vodacom, Standard Bank and Old Mutual. He formerly hosted The Real Goboza show on SABC 1 and is an expert in delivering masterclasses on marketing, design and creativity.
