Blue Story

What happens when a YouTube series is adapted into a feature length film? Well, what you get is a tragic tale relaying the effects of turf wars. In Blue Story, two young friends who become rivals in a street war. Narrated through rap, the film is based on Rapman’s own experiences with crossing gang-affliated borders. Blue Story stars Stephen Obubola and Micheal Ward. In cinemas 7 February.

Jojo Rabbit

Starring Scrarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, and Roman Griffin Davis, the Oscar-nominated Jojo Rabbit follows Jojo, a Hitler Youth member who finds out that his mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their attic.  He’s faced with questioning his beliefs while dealing with an imaginary fanciful version of Adolf Hitler. In cinemas 7 February.

Malang

Catch a glimpse of this not-so-colourful Hindi film. In Malang, Advait visits Goa where he runs into Sara, a free-spirited girl who lives life unshackled. Opposites attract and all goes well until life turns upside down. Years later, Advait is on a killing spree with cops Aghase and Michael in his way. The film stars Anil Kapoor, Aditya Kapoor, and Disha Patani. In cinemas 7 February.

Waves

Tracing the journey of a suburban family, Waves follows a well-intentioned but domineering father as he leads his family through love, forgiveness, and coming together in the aftermath of a loss. The drama stars Taylor Russell and Kelvin Harrison Jr. In cinemas 7 February.
