JOBURG – For a night of art, wine, music and mingling with some of the City’s creatively-inclined individuals check out our standout things to do tonight.
A hot date on the City’s monthly event calendar, First Thursdays are free-to-attend public events. The events see art galleries, boutique stores, niche bars and cultural events stay open until 9 pm or later on the first Thursday of every month.
The events are widely loved by Joburgers as they allow anyone to explore the city on foot and experience the plethora of cultural activities Joburg has to offer – the catch is that there is no tour, schedule, or guided walk, the whole experience is up to you and wherever your curiosity takes you.

Celebrating David Koloane at WAM
WAM will be open till late. Visit the museum for a panel discussion where four speakers will discuss how David Koloane’s iconic legacy has impacted their careers. From the Bag Factory Artists’ Studios to the David Koloane Award, Koloane’s social activism created spaces for black artists to flourish.
First Thursdays Blaze Café
Check out Maboneng’s Blaze Café for an evening of music, cannabis culture and art. The line-up includes The Us, Blackace, Mzukhona, Tony Dangler, Skorsvz, Zeno and DJ Cloud.
The Warehouse Sessions
Taking the essence of the weekly dance show hosted by Just Mo & Josi Chave on YFM and bringing it to the streets #TheWarehouseSessions is all about good vibes and even better music. Expect a night filled with a variety of great music delivered by some of S.A’s best DJs including Just Mo, Josi Chave, Moloko Mo and more.
Keyes Thursday
Check out the popular Keyes Art Mile for exhibitions at smac and TMRW galleries, including Felix Laband’s The Garden of Earthly Dislikes. Make sure you also catch B Therapy’s jazz performance as well as Felix Laband’s performance at MESH. Keyes Thursdays is no longer ticketed, with free access to the public.
Ladies’ Night Out
Party the night away with your girls at Ladies’ Night Out. A night of fun featuring food, drinks and conversation with good friends, Crafters Rooftop Bar’s Ladies’ Night Out promise limitless cocktails and bottomless bubbly while you party the night away.
