True Music Fund applications open to SA artists, promoters and creatives

JOBURG – Boiler Room x Ballantine’s opens SA-leg of True Music Fund with R375 000 up for grabs.

Last year, Boiler Room x Ballantine’s Scotch whiskey launched the global True Music Fund. The initiative offers financial investment and one-to-one mentoring for independent programmers, artists and creatives, with the goal to help local music communities thrive.

Kicking off in Spain earlier this year, the fund has opened its doors to South African artists, promoters and creatives looking to make a difference in the local music community.

With a R375 000 investment to make ideas a reality the project is part of Ballantine’s longstanding commitment to push True Music scenes forward and to support artists, fans, crews and communities around the world. The True Music Fund calls on those spearheading music scenes to submit proposals for local music events that have potential for real community benefit, but that need support to get off the ground.

The Fund will back projects run by the local music community, for the local community.

Applications for the SA-leg of the True Music Fund close on 21 February. For more information on the application process check out the Boiler Room X Ballantine’s True Music Fund website.
