JOBURG – Cotton Fest 2020 to feature over 100 of SA’s freshet talent.

It was all fun and games at the Fun Company in Fourways Mall with the line-up launch of Cotton Fest 2020. Superstar Rikhado Makhado, aka Riky Rick, announced the line-up of one of Mzansi’s most-anticipated music events of the New Year. It will feature over 100 of South Africa’s freshest talent and is set to be a full day of urban music and fashion.

The biggest talents and emerging talent have joined forces and boast diversities in hip-hop while merging together a number of different local movements. To keep in line with the culture and get things moving, the rapper held a party – bowling alley style and it was an absolute blast.

The Fun Company played host to media and celebrities alike. As a resident in the Waterfall area, Riky Rick chose this set up to get away from the hustle and bustle of the working world.

“It was a relaxed and casual environment. We wanted everyone to get out of their offices for a few hours and just have fun. As much as the platform is about having a great party, it’s really more about nurturing and developing young artists. We are all aligned in our visions to grow the culture and a movement to expand the pool of talent in our country.”

Of course there were sore losers, winners and a whole lot of excitement. Aligned on the same wave lengths and in partnership, is youth station YFM and MTVbase. They mentioned that there are major plans to take Cotton Fest to the next level, reach a larger audience and overall showcase the talent of Mzansi.

“Cotton Fest is a platform that resonates closely with the YFM brand. We were here in year one and following the success of this year’s festival, it was obvious we would get behind Riky and his team again. They are 100 per cent in it for the culture and their work represents the voice of young people in the city,” said YFM’s brand activator Fanele Moloi.

Set to take place in the city next year, you can catch your favourite rapper headlining Cotton Fest 2020 in February. You will also be able to see your faves such as AKA, Areece, Ayanda MVP, Black Motion, Boity, Da Les, Nadia Nakai, Nasty C, Sho Madjozi, Lalla Hirayama, Moonchild, DJ Fresh and Bekzin Terris.
