Norwood Police Station committed and hardworking member dies at age 65

NORWOOD– Norwood Police Station loses a committed member who headed administration department for years.


The Norwood Police Station has kicked off the new year with sad news following the death of the head of administration clerks at the station, Monica Nomzamo at age 65.

Norwood police spokesperson Eric Masotsha said Nomzamo who worked at the station for 35 years died at the Lenmed Ahmed Kathrada Private Hospital on 13 January after a short illness. “We are saddened and heartbroken following the death of our dedicated and hardworking colleague Mrs Monica Nomzamo.

“Nomzamo worked in the administration department for 35 years with dedication. She loved her job in such a way that she refused to retire in 2016 and continued to serve the community of Norwood and public at large.”

Masotsha said Nomzamo will be remembered for her leadership skills, loyalty and commitment in serving the people. She will be laid to rest on 26 January in Kensington, Cape Town.
