Councillor Rugheimer donates new stationery to Lyndhurst primary learners

LYNDHURST – Stationery is an important commodity for learners.

To assist those who are less privileged, Ward 81 councillor Irene Rugheimer handed out stationery to some children at Lyndhurst Primary School on 14 January.

The children received a donation of new books, pencils, markers, crayons and various other educational material as well as toys and bags.

This gesture was part of a back to school initiative by the councillor and said the items were donated by Bedfordview Lions Club.

“I personally requested assistance from the Lions Club who receive donations for marshalling at the annual Toy Run,” she said.

“Stationery is an important commodity for learners. Without pens and pencils, they cannot write. Most activities done in class require stationery. In primary school, the activities almost always require scissors, glue and colouring stationery. Some of this will be given to children who don’t have.”

Rugheimer thanked the Bedfordview Lions Club for the donation.
