Johannesburg Flying Squad arrests six suspects for various crimes

JOHANNESBURG – SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution.


During their patrol duties over the last weekend (18–19 January), the Johannesburg Flying Squad police unit arrested six suspects in different parts of Johannesburg.

According to the police unit’s spokesperson, senior personnel officer Raymond Sambo, “Amongst the six suspects arrested one was for common theft, one for shoplifting and another one for malicious damage to property. Three others were for possession of drugs.”

He added that two stolen vehicles (a white Tata Indica and a white Ford Bantam) and a hijacked A4 Audi was recovered. “Investigation continues in all cases.”

The police thanked members of the community and said working together with them led to these recoveries. “SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution.”

He also urged anyone with information regarding the vehicles to contact the relevant detective, quoting the relevant case number.

All the six suspects have since appeared in different magistrate’s courts facing different charges.
