The year academic year 2020 officially kick-started on 15 January with public schools across the country opening and welcoming new faces at various primary schools.

At Norwood Primary School, new Grade Rs were welcomed with style in their state-of-the-art facilities with fully equipped educational equipment. The school also welcomed the new Grade 1s, many of whom graduated from the school’s Grade R class last year.

Dressed in their new red, white and black uniform, children looked eager and ready to start their first day of ‘big school’.

Primary school teacher Salosh Frank, said it was all systems go adding that the first day went as they had planned. “The day went very well with children in class and fortunately we didn’t have those who were crying today [15 January],” Frank said.
