10 January: TOY TOY feat Pional

Get your dancing shoes on and vibe out with Pional Musiq at TOY TOY. Powered by Void Acoustics And Club brings the multi-insturmentalist, empyrean vocalist, top-drawer DJ, composer, producer and Spain’s best kept electronic underground secret. Supporting acts include Craig Placid, Fabio and Dogstarr. Tickets are available at the door for R150.

11 January: Deep Town Jozi presents Kid Fonque

Catch Kid Fonque at the first Deep Town Jozi of the new decade. The Stay True Sounds founder promises a night of world class thumping sounds at The Tennis Club on 11 January. Tickets are available online from R60 – R100 and R150 at the door.

11 January: Showcase Saturday presents Iziki

Catch a glimpse of astounding views of the City while Iziki plays in the background. With a line-up featuring Djuma Soundsystem, Team Distant, Karyendasoul, Zakes Bantwini and more, Iziki is a new global phenomenon worshiping the ancient original beat!  It has taken place in New York, Berlin, Tulum and Copenhagen, and now its Joburg’s turn. 12 January: Jazz & Food Pairing Afternoons

Good food and good music is a match made in leisurely heaven! 12 January: DOP

DOP, Retief Scholtz’s theatrical debut will be presented at the Market Theatre for a two-week run from 9 -19 January. Produced by Kosie Smit, directed by Sylvaine Strike featuring Andre Odendaal and Wilhelm van der Walt. The production is a fascinating and cutting-edge story of Frank Venter, an ordinary man. One of thousands in life that a few will know, and even fewer will remember. Like everyone, Frank has a story that nobody listens to. It’s not impressive enough — or is it?
