Support through matric results is available

PARKTOWN – For some, matric results may be stressful and Childline Gauteng in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Education are on standby to offer support.

Childline Gauteng based in Parktown provides telephonic counselling for all child-related problems. They offer a 24/7 and 365 days a year service on the 08000 55555 helpline which is toll-free from all services providers and is available to all children, families and community members in Gauteng.

Trained counsellors are available to provide counselling, information and appropriate intervention in the preferred language of the caller.

“We would like to add that the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) has partnered with Childline Gauteng to support learners and families through the stress of waiting for the matric results. We commend GDE for their care and concern for their school communities,” director at Childline Gauteng, Lynne Cawood said.

She added that tensions run high on 7 January when the matric results are published. Cawood said, “The Childline Help Line is available to provide support through this stressful time. Childline Gauteng commends the matric class of 2019 for doing their best and we wish them every success. May all their dreams come true!”
