Top SA acts to shine at AfroPunk Joburg 2019
JOBURG – Afropunk announces official line-up for the 2019 edition of the two-day festival.
For more than a decade, the Afropunk Festival has defined culture in world music and a melting pot of multiculturalism, diversity and progressive thought – catering for people of all races, genders, colours, creeds and tastes.
Last year, Joburg’s Constitution Hill played host to the second edition of the Afropunk Festival in Africa and was the meeting point on 30 and 31 December with a fire line-up that saw the international names such as Kaytranada, The Internet, Thundercat, and Flying Lotus take to the stage while local sensations FAKA, Thandiswa, Youngstacpt, and Muzi proved why SA talent has the power to compete on a grand stage.
The official line-up for the 2019 edition of Afropunk has had social media abuzz as global sensations Solange, Miguel, Masego, Goldlink, Nao and Rico Nasty are set to take to the stage. As if that wasn’t enough to make people rush to get their tickets, Sho Madjozi, Busiswa, Distruction Boyz, Zoe Modiga, Darkie Fiction, Morena Leraba and Umlilo are some of SA’s top acts slated to give exhilarating performances.
Another win for SA talent is the addition of DJ sensations, DBN Gogo, Fif_Laaa and Lelowhatsgood – individuals who have proven themselves worthy of keeping any crowd on their feet by gifting revellers astounding beats and technically matured sets.
