Kamo Moth reaches new heights

Bold, beautiful and beaming. These would be the best descriptions for entertainer, Kamo Moth. With Oprah as one of her biggest motivators, Moth’s aspirations are inspiring. She has always been one to dabble in the entertainment industry.

With the title model, motivational speaker, radio and television presenter, Moth explained her journey was not always an easy one.

“The block is hot but the game is cold. It’s fun and amazing but the higher you get up the ladder the colder it gets. But I don’t see myself doing anything else but this,” she exclaimed.

She’s currently on the airwaves with DJ Sbu’s radio station, Massiv Metro. Born in Bloemfontein and now living in Paulshof, she was a relatively quiet child. It was only later on when she realised her true potential.

 “My strong personality started to spark through during my varsity years at the University of the Free State while I was studying LLB. “During these years I served on various leadership platforms. I was part of almost every committee at Huis Wag’-n’- Bietjie (varsity residence), vice chair of the executive committee of the transformation SRC and later vice prime at Arista.”

She also had a stint as a netball player and coach, through that journey she realised her path.

“I did always enjoy the crowds who came in numbers to support the game and cheer on as I showed off my skills on the court.”

Acting was always on her horizon, but that quickly changed after some time working at a community radio station in her hometown.

“After a year at Cut FM, I scooped ‘best on-air duo’ and figured ‘I got to move to Johannesburg to really chase the dream’. “Best decision ever because in the two years I’ve been in Johannesburg, I’ve had the pleasure of working with industry giants.”

After some time being in the industry Moth has learnt that nothing comes easy. Hard work is key. When she’s not out chasing her dreams, living her best life and staying fabulous, she loves to catch up on some Zs.
