Park Care Centre appeals for Christmas gifts for residents

PARKTOWN WEST – Share in the giving spirit by donating much needed toiletries to female residents at Park Care Centre.

Park Care Centre in Parktown West appeals to community members to donate items to fill 40 Christmas bags for frail women living at the centre.

Business development officer at the centre Jaqui Smith said, “Each of the over 300 resident community will be receiving one large and one small Christmas gift on Friday 20 December at 10am.”

Smith explained that for the men at the centre, these gifts have been secured, however, there is a greater need among the women. Items including body lotion, biscuits, sweets, toiletries, deodorant, body talc (powder), cordials, face cloths, soaps, toothbrushes and any other enjoyable Christmas treats are welcome.

Smith explained that on the day, the social work team will hand out gifts and residents will enjoy some karaoke and festive music to set the mood. “Your vital support and involved engagement are of the essence to help Park Care fashion a magnificent and fabulous Christmas for each delicate resident.”
