Sandringham Police Station welcomes 20 street patrollers to keep local parks and shopping centres

SANDRINGHAM – Police spokesperson Captain Mohlaume Mamabolo said the patrollers received special training to equip them with the necessary skills to work with communities.

The Sandringham Police Station has received a major boost to curb crime on the local street corners and shopping centres.

This after the station received more than 20 streets patrollers from the Department of Community Safety that will work with the police in different areas to minimise crime this festive season.

Police station spokesperson Captain Mohlaume Mamabolo said the arrival of street patrollers will make the police’s job easier to apprehend those who break the law.

“The recruited streets patrollers will work with the police sector managers in different local shopping centres and parks to ensure the safety of residents.

“During this time of the year, many people try their luck to break the law hoping to get away with it. Patrollers and police will ensure that our streets, parks and shopping centres are safe for community members.”

Mamabolo added that the patrollers received special training to equip them with the necessary skills to work with communities.
