Crescent Lifestyle donated over R500 000 to beneficiary organisations

PARKTOWN – Crescent Lifestyle donated R500 930.34 to various charities.


Crescent Lifestyle donated R500 930.34 to a number of beneficiaries for the 11th consecutive year at their annual Beneficiary Payout event hosted at their offices in Parktown on 26 November.

Crescent Lifestyle is an Islamic lifestyle product which uses an app to link members of the Muslim community to a number of value-added products in their vicinity including halal eateries, places of worship and more. The aim of the product is to empower, unify and enhance the Muslim lifestyle. Members of Crescent Lifestyle select a beneficiary of their choice who will receive a portion of their subscription fees each month.

Since inception, the organisation has donated R5.5 million to various organisations around the country.

Managing director of Crescent Lifestyle, Al-Firnas Patel addressed those in attendance at the event saying, “After 11 years in operation, Crescent Lifestyle continues to fulfil our vision to unite the Muslim community to work together to help those in need. Alhamdulillah [praise be to God], this has only been possible through the support of our loyal members.”

Maulana (religious leader) Sulaiman Moola shared a message with the audience at the event, encouraging selflessness within the community.

“Humans are becoming extinct,” he said. “We must plant and those that come after us will reap the fruit. We need to step out of our selfishness and become selfless.”

Disaster relief organisation Gift of the Givers received the largest donation of R35 466 at the event. A representative of the organisation Karabo Buffle said, “We are so grateful for your assistance that allows us to help those in need.”

Qari Ziyaad Patel of the Al-Imdaad Foundation, which works as a humanitarian and relief-aid organisation serving orphans, widows and the destitute in a number of countries, encouraged those in attendance by saying, “Just by being an honourable human being, you will spread light and value.” The organisation received a donation of R26 020.88.

Other organisations including Beitul Aman Old Age Home, Ikgang – Orphans with HIV, Sultan Bahu Centre, Vision Child and Youth Care Centre, Baitul Ilm Organisation, Muslim Judicial Council, Baitul Ansaar Charitable Foundation and Ihata Shelter, among others, also received generous donations from Crescent Lifestyle.
