Anatii brings home Soul Train award

JOBURG – Anatii bags The Ashford & Simpson Songwriter's Award for his contribution to Beyoncé’s  Brown Skin Girl.

South African artists continue to crossover onto the international scene – from collaborations and awards – they’re rapidly growing in global acts. The latest in a win for the country is Anatii’s Soul Train Award win.

The Thixo Onefefe hitmaker walked away with the award following his nomination alongside Beyoncé and Wizkid in The Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award for his contribution to the chart-topping hit, Brown Skin Girl at this year’s Soul Train Awards.

Earlier this year, Disney released The Lion King soundtrack, The Lion King: The Gift, produced by Beyoncé and packed with an array of collabos. Other noteworthy features on the soundtrack include South African dance music queens, Moonchild Sanelly and Busiswa with appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, Childish Gambino, the album also features numerous African artists such Tiwa Savage, Mr Eazi, Tekno, Yemi Alade, Burna Boy, Wiz Kid and more African talent
