Hey, it’s Halloween at George Hay Park

PARKVIEW – A number of groups and organisations came together to make the spooky event a success.

Parkview Residents Association hosted yet another successful Halloween celebration at George Hay Park in Parkview.

According to the association’s outgoing communications and marketing officer, Theresa Gibbon, a number of groups and individuals deserved appreciation for making the family fun day a success. Entry was granted for everyone who brought dog or cat food for animals in distress.

Discovery and Netcare 911 provided paramedics and an ambulance while SafeParkview and 24/7 provided extra security.

Nicarela Charity provided the gazebos and tables and there were a number of volunteers of Parktown High School for Girls. “Thank you also to Karen who manned the cold drink stand with various family members for years and our judges Heidi, Declan, Tikki, Jean and Dan. Thank you to Shaughan Macrae for supplying all the technical stuff,” said Gibbon.

Attendees were encouraged to support the cold drink stand as the profits would go towards paying for the set up of the event. They were also encouraged to put money in the donation boxes as the money would go towards the Halloween expenses as well as the upkeep of George Hay Park.
